Portraits
I always begin a portrait with the eyes—for me, they are the focal point of a portrait. If you can successfully render the eyes of a person, you can reveal their essence. It is also important that a portrait shows the true personality of the subject. Therefore, I do not usually recommend painting a person with that ‘perfect smile’, which is so popular in, photographs today.
